ROMANTIC!

Characteristics of the Romantic Fashion Personality:
Romantic describes your style perfectly. Your look is feminine, and you prefer feminine details on clothing and soft, flowing fabrics. Ruffles, lace, and velvet attract you. You view the past as a more romantic time and can picture yourself as the heroine in a historical romance. The Victorian Era appeals to you as part of a romantic past when women always wore long skirts, hats, and gloves. You're likely to be a collector of beautiful objects, perhaps antique hatpins or china with floral motifs.
The Romantic Fashion Personality's Closet:
A peek in your closet reveals dresses and skirts that fall below the knee, sometimes far below the knee. Your sweaters also tend to be long too and may fall below the hip. You have more sweaters than jackets and may not own a suit. You prefer soft pastel colors and floral prints. You also like pants that are soft and drapey, rather than crisp and tailored.
Your jewelry may be antique or vintage, but if it isn't, it still reflects a vintage fashion sensibility. You're more likely than other fashion personality types to own and wear hats or gloves as fashion accessories.
The Romantic Fashion Personaltiy at Work and Play:
Your work attire may project less of a businesslike look than that of your colleagues. You are much more likely to wear a dress to work than a suit. When you wear a dress or a skirt, you prefer to pair it with a cardigan rather than a jacket.
On casual weekends, you sometimes look a bit out of place. You're less likely to wear jeans than other fashion personality types, preferring instead to wear long skirts or floppy pants.
Shopping and the Romantic Fashion Personality:
When you're shopping, you're most drawn to the items that reflect your romantic fashion personality without regard to whether or not the clothing is on trend. Although you are not usually able to find much clothing that appeals to you in the petites department at major department stores, you can find petites clothing that will fit your romantic style elsewhere.
Top retailers to shop for romantic clothing:
Elizabeth + James
Dolce & Gabbana
Coldwater Creek
Nina Ricci
Top retailer for bargains on romantic clothing:
Newport News
Tweaking the Style of the Romantic Fashion Personality:
Of all the fashion personality types, yours is the most feminine. Sometimes you look a bit outdated, and although there's nothing wrong with wearing frilly dresses once in a while, too many ruffles and frills can create a look that's more girlish than womanly.
Your love of the past can sometimes get in the way of the present, especially when it comes to dressing for work. Think about balancing your wardrobe with some up-to-date basics in neutral colors that you can mix with your more romantic and feminine pieces.
Special Note for the Petite Romantic Fashion Personality:
The length of your dresses, skirts, sweaters, and tops emphasizes your short stature, so consider hemming dresses and skirts at or just below the knee so that more leg shows, and you look a bit taller. Take care not to wear clothing that's too baggy because semi-fitted clothing will make you look longer and leaner.
Colleagues and supervisors may underestimate your abilities based on your wardrobe alone, so it might be worthwhile to invest in a couple of tailored jackets that you can wear to work to put a more businesslike spin on your very feminine look. Go easy on the ruffles, florals, and pastels at work.

The big LANVIN reveal... 11|23|2010 is THE day!

Swedish retail house Hennes & mauritz are at it again.. Next week they are set to release a special collection with Luxuery designer Lanvin, following up on successful launches with other big names such as Karl Lagerfeld & Jimmy Choo. I sure hope that this collection's accessories will be wayyy cheaper than the clothes. I had to go to the Google currency exchange just to make sure... And all I can say is... WOW. I love, love, love the clothes (Especially the sheer and tulle dress, which costs around 1990 HKD - See image 2), and the fact that it's LANVIN makes you fall in love with it more. Although the price range of such clothes is quite expensive, we can't complain though. Alber Elbaz said he didn't want to make it a "Dress for Less" project... So I think we can completely understand, the house of Lanvin has been a favorite Luxury brand of the rich & famous Parisians since the 1920's.
Come to think of it, we (the so-called PUBLIC) should still be thankful for this collaboration... If not for this, we'll never ever get the chance to have our hands on those lovely creations. (Not unless we marry a millionaire or win the lotto... Hahahaha!)
So ladies, this is it... November 23 is THE day! Buy your plane tickets to Hong Kong NOW!

Here, There and Everywhere... ♥

One of my favorite Beetles songs... :)

To lead a better life I need my love to be here...

Here, making each day of the year
Changing my life with a wave of her hand
Nobody can deny that there's something there

There, running my hands through her hair
Both of us thinking how good it can be
Someone is speaking but she doesn't know he's there

I want her everywhere and if she's beside me
I know I need never care
But to love her is to need her everywhere
Knowing that love is to share

Each one believing that love never dies
Watching her eyes and hoping I'm always there

I want her everywhere and if she's beside me
I know I need never care
But to love her is to need her everywhere
Knowing that love is to share

Each one believing that love never dies
Watching her eyes and hoping I'm always there

I will be there and everywhere
Here, there and everywhere

NOW AVAILABLE ON iTUNES!

Style Icon: Garonce Dore

I've been a huge fan of Fashion Illustrations... Not just Garonce Dore's... But as well as Claire Owens, Sujean Rim, Izak Zenou, Jason Brooks, Ruben Toledo... The fact that they can draw people and look like humans amazes me. I could hardly draw a person with legs and arms (In good and even proportions...) Sometimes, they don't even look like people to me.

Anyway, this particular illustration by Garonce reminds me of ME. I wear my denim shorts that way all the time... Plus I like wearing my black blazer... And the hair all tied up in a bun... LOOOOOVE!

Garonce is one of my favorite Parisian fashionistas... I adore her love for photography and everything beautiful, her taste in clothes, her chic/fashionable style, her super curly dark brown hair... Everything about this woman is just adorable. Every time I visit her blog, I could feel myself smile and could not help but think about what would it be like if I was living in Paris too? It has always been a dream of mine to get there and see all the sights and people Garonce posts on her blog.

* Sigh... ♥ *

Printed blog

I've always been a fan of everything printed. Somehow I'm one of those people who would go out of their way to print a copy of an article, rather than reading them in a pdf format. I also adore going through picture albums... Not the Multiply/Facebook type of albums... But rather the big, bulky albums or even scrapbooks (Which reminds me... I have to update mine soon! It's been a while... I think I have around 8 years of memories to get printed! Waaaah!) Anyway, I saw this ad after I posted my last entry. Hmmm... Very interesting. A printed copy of my blog over the years! Now wouldn't that be something. I mean, I heard the "I want a printed copy" me screaming with excitement. A grand idea I must say. I would love to have a printed copy of my blog. I like reading before I sleep, so it would be really fun to read how I blogged over the years. Hahahaha. Exciting...
Maybe next year.

Fashion Institute (QC)

Styled for my former teachers' photography and styling class. It was fun... I tried being a photographer and a stylist for a day. Yeah... Theme was Wicked (The broadway musical)... I'm not really keen on the pictures I took... I need more practice. Plus my camera has a bit of a buzz.
Tell me what you think! :)

Pretty Boy ♥
